THE CONTINO FAMILY
The Contino family story begins with our parents, who migrated from Sicily to London, bringing with them a deep love for food and tradition. Their passion for authentic Italian cuisine inspired us from a young age and set us on a path in the food industry. Through their business, Sapori D’Italia, they showed us the way, instilling in us the values of quality, dedication, and the importance of family in everything we do. Today, that legacy continues to guide us as we share the flavours of Italy with the world.

Our mission is to bring a slice of La Dolce Vita to everyone’s life, beginning from their dining room table. So let’s raise our glasses to good wine, cheers to good food and live life the Italian way!   In Italy, food is not just sustenance, it’s a way of life. Italians take pride in the meals they prepare and the ingredients they use. From fresh pasta to homemade tomato sauce, every dish is crafted with care and intention. And of course, no Italian meal is complete without a glass of wine to complement the flavours. But it’s not just about the food and drink. Italians value the time spent around the table with loved ones, sharing stories and creating memories. OUR STORY
It all began in Sicily, in 1982, when Salvatore, founder of Sapori D’Italia, was lucky enough to spend more than eight years working with the ‘King of Olives & Antipasti’, the very man depicted in Sapori D’Italia’s logo.

He passed on all of the passion and dedication to Salvatore, inspiring him to carry on the art of making high quality Italia products. In 1991, Salvatore moved to London with his wife Tiziana, with the dream of being high quality producers of traditional Olives, Antipasti and Pesto, so together they decided to dedicated themselves to introducing these delicacies to the UK market. The dream came to life as a result of their passion and determination.
 

In 2010, a state of the art establishment was built from the ground up, in the heart of Liguria; the home of Pesto.
By no coincidence, within a close vicinity of their P.D.O. Genovese Basil fields, allowing to guarantee the best possible quality and freshness of the main ingredient, truly respecting the ‘farm to fork’ concept.
 
 
 
When COVID-19 first hit in March 2020, causing restaurants, hotels, pubs and cafe’s all to close, we (Giuliana & Domenico), had the idea to bring all of Sapori D’Italia’s fantastic products straight to your homes. In no time we launched our first ever Online Shop, showcasing all of the fantastic products Sapori produces, along with a vast range of unique, high quality Italian products, with a fast and reliable home delivery service all across the UK.
